Whether ceramic, sintered, or organic brake pads are better for Can-Am ATVs depends on the riding environment, terrain, and performance preferences of the rider. Sintered pads are generally considered the best option for Can-Am ATV brakes because they can handle the mud, water, sand, and all-around harsh trails most ATV riders prefer. They also provide superior stopping power. But because of the full-metallic construction, sintered pads are typically more aggressive on brake discs.

In most cases, you don’t have to choose front and rear Can-Am pads separately. Most suppliers, including Sixity, sell complete front and rear kits. If you ever had to choose, you need to consider:

• Axle-specific fitment vs shared design
• Braking workload and kinetic bias
• Mixing and matching friction compounds
• Inspection and replacement intervals

Some riders prefer to mix and match, but that’s a preference and not a requirement. It’s often a decision based on money, keeping more expensive sintered pads in the front to handle the workload, while using cheaper organic pads in the back.  

Unlike regular cars, off-road vehicles don't have fixed mileage replacement intervals. The pads for Can-Am brakes require inspection every 100 to 200 hours, depending on use. You should replace the pads immediately if the friction lining wears down to 1mm or less.
