What is the difference between ceramic, organic, and sintered brake pads?

At Sixity, we have three main types of Honda brake pads that we produce and sell: ceramic, organic, and sintered. Whether you have a Honda motorcycle or ATV, it’s important to know the differences between the brake pad types. 

  • Ceramic: Ceramic composite brake pads are the closest thing offered to an all-around choice. Great for a variety of situations, ceramic brake pads are exceptionally quiet and deliver incredible braking performance over a wide range of driving conditions.
  • Organic: Semi-metallic Kevlar organic brake pads are the best choice when extremely smooth braking performance is needed. Organic brake pads are great for use on street and touring motorcycles where smooth braking is desired. They’re also used with polished or chrome-plated rotors where minimal rotor wear is important.
  • Sintered: Full-metallic sintered bronze brake pads are a perfect choice in the most rigorous riding situations. They’re great in the most demanding conditions, even performing exceptionally well in wet or muddy conditions.
