How long do wheel spacers last?
The wheel spacers will likely last for a while. How long they last depends on how aggressively one rides their ATV, and what quality spacers you have installed. If you ride your quad pretty hard, you might be more susceptible to cracking your spacers or even causing damage to the rest of your modified suspension system, just as you might with your stock suspension without the spacers.
A set of wheel spacers on your ATV is a quick and easy way to widen the quad, but it does put extra pressure on your suspension system. By extending the wheels out while keeping the suspension system in place, it does make it take on more of a load than it did before. There will be increased strain and wear to your wheels, wheel bearings, ball joints, and axles. It doesn’t make wheel spacers unsafe, but it is something to keep in mind if you are considering wheel spacers and still want to take gnarly turns and go over bumps at high speeds.
Rest assured, high-quality wheel spacers are made of billet aluminum which is just as strong, if not stronger than the wheels they attach to. Just make sure to properly torque all of the spacers’ bolts and nuts and you should be good to go.
